We hosted our first session last Thursday, 9th September and honestly, we were blown away by the response. Despite the terrible weather, over 40 people joined us. We’re pleased to announce that we have secured our venue for the foreseeable future! Batida Rio will take place at Fearnhead Cross Youth and Community Centre, Insall Road, Padgate, Warrington WA2 0HD. Sessions will run from 7pm to 9pm, every Thursday. We’re really excited to have secured this venue in one of Warrington Council’s spaces. The main hall is huge, which is perfect for large music groups. In 2019, two experienced samba musicians decided to start a new community drumming group in Warrington. Unfortunately, just six months after this decision and at the tail end of the planning stage, the Coronavirus pandemic hit, and with it, those plans were brought to a halt.
