We hope you enjoy playing with us, learning, making friends and generally having a good time! Just so you’re aware, we do have a few key T&Cs to cover for everyone’s safety and well-being.

Please note that by entering the main hall, regardless of whether you have signed in, you are assumed to agree to these terms and conditions.

  1. Please be mindful of your own health and well-being. Drumming can feel strenuous for long periods, especially for those with little or no previous experience. If you are feeling unwell at any time, please stop playing and place your drum down. Please inform a member if you are uncomfortable with an instrument and we will seek to find you an alternative.
  2. Be kind and courteous. We do not allow disrespectful, hateful, or bullying behaviour of any kind. The ethos of Batida Rio is a positive experience for all, and individuals displaying inappropriate behaviour, or expressing hate speech, will be asked to leave immediately. We do not tolerate violence or aggression toward other members or staff.
  3. Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied at all times. Batida Rio does not accept responsibility for unaccompanied minors. Parents who do not wish to participate do not need to pay but will be expected to be present at all times even if not taking part.
  4. Please do not take videos or photos during a session. We have a register of individuals who have consented to photography, and staff regularly add photos that you are free to share on social media. Mobile phones are permitted but please take any communication (calls, text etc)  outside of the main hall.
  5. Please take care of the equipment. Full training is given on all our drums and equipment, but please be considerate when using drums, sticks etc. Please don’t throw drums, sticks, or beaters. We want our equipment to last!
  6. Your own equipment is your responsibility. You’re welcome to buy/use your own equipment (provided it’s approved for band use, please speak to us first!) but Batida Rio takes no responsibility for damage to personal drums or equipment.
